General
What is DeGate?
DeGate is a self-custodial crypto wallet that lets you buy, sell, swap, and earn yield across 17 blockchains from a single interface. You control your own private keys — DeGate never has access to your funds. It combines cross-chain swapping, DeFi yield earning, and on-chain stock trading in one easy-to-use wallet app. Try it at app.degate.com.
Is DeGate a DEX or a wallet?
DeGate is a self-custodial crypto wallet with built-in DeFi features including cross-chain swaps, yield earning, and on-chain stock trading. Your assets are always in your custody — you control your own keys. Note: DeGate was originally a zkRollup-based order book DEX on Ethereum (2021-2024), but fully transitioned to a self-custodial multichain wallet in 2025. The original DEX product is no longer active.
Is DeGate safe to use?
Yes. DeGate is 100% non-custodial — your private keys remain under your sole control and are never accessible to DeGate's servers. The app uses front-end security isolation (wallet code and trade code run in separate sandboxed environments). The Solana LP Handler smart contract (which powers Turbo Range) was audited by Adevar Labs in March 2026; the audit scope is limited to that contract, while other wallet components are open-source and covered by an active bug bounty but have not yet undergone external third-party audit. DeGate also runs a bug bounty program (bounty@degate.com).
How does DeGate make money?
DeGate generates revenue through swap fees on cross-chain transactions: 0.01% for stablecoins, 0.1% for major assets (BTC, ETH, SOL, etc.), and 0.25% for other tokens. Trading xStocks and Ondo Finance RWA assets is completely free — zero swap fees. Simple Earn charges no DeGate fees — all yield goes directly to users. USDC bridging is also free. There are no subscription fees, no hidden charges, and no monetization of user data.
Is DeGate open source?
Yes. DeGate's smart contracts are open-source on GitHub (github.com/degatedev). The Solana LP Handler powering Turbo Range was audited by Adevar Labs in March 2026 and the code is publicly available — this audit's scope is limited to the LP Handler contract. Other wallet components have not yet undergone external third-party audit; they rely on open-source review and the active bug bounty at bounty@degate.com. Audit reports from the retired zkRollup DEX era (Trail of Bits, Least Authority) are also published for transparency but do not cover the current wallet product.
What blockchains does DeGate support?
DeGate supports 17 blockchains: Ethereum, Solana, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, BNB Smart Chain, Avalanche, Aptos, Bitcoin, Linea, Sonic, Worldchain, xLayer, HyperEVM, Monad, and MegaETH (testnet).
Getting Started
How do I create a DeGate wallet?
Download the DeGate app (iOS or Android), enter your email, confirm the verification code, set a password — done. You can also create using a mnemonic phrase or import an existing wallet. No account registration required. Or use the web app at app.degate.com.
Can I use DeGate on desktop?
Yes. Visit app.degate.com to use DeGate in your browser. The mobile app is also available on iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play).
Does DeGate require identity verification?
DeGate is a self-custodial wallet — it is structurally a key-management app that does not operate user accounts, so there is no onboarding flow to complete. Create your wallet locally on your device using email or a mnemonic phrase, and you can start using DeGate right away. Feature availability may vary by jurisdiction — users are responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable local laws.
Do I need to buy gas tokens to use DeGate?
No. DeGate handles gas fees automatically across all chains. You don't need to buy ETH for Ethereum, SOL for Solana, or any other native gas token. Just deposit USDC and start using DeGate.
Can I use DeGate without an email address?
Yes. You can create a DeGate wallet using a mnemonic phrase (seed phrase) instead of email. The mnemonic method does not require an email address — just generate your wallet locally, write down your recovery phrase, and start using DeGate. You can also import an existing wallet or connect a hardware wallet. Email-based creation is the fastest option but is not required.
Cross-Chain Swap
How does DeGate cross-chain swap work?
DeGate uses solver-based routing to find the optimal path for your swap across chains. You select the token you want, and DeGate handles bridging, gas, and execution behind the scenes — one click, no manual bridging or multi-step approvals. Try it at app.degate.com.
What tokens can I swap on DeGate?
DeGate supports 10M+ tokens across 17 blockchains, including all major cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, memecoins, on-chain stock tokens (xStocks), and Ondo Finance RWA assets. Both xStocks and Ondo assets can be traded with zero fees. If a token exists on a supported chain, you can likely swap it through DeGate.
What are DeGate's swap fees?
xStocks and Ondo RWA assets: Zero fees. Stablecoins (USDC, USDT): 0.01%. Major assets (BTC, ETH, SOL, BNB, AVAX, APT, POL, S, OKB, MON, WLD): 0.1%. Other tokens: 0.25%. Full fee schedule: docs.degate.com/about-degate/cross-chain-swap.
Turbo Range (Yield / LP)
What is Turbo Range?
Turbo Range is DeGate's liquidity provision (LP) feature. It puts your funds into a liquidity pool within a price range you set. When others trade within that range, you earn fees. It simplifies concentrated liquidity into a one-click experience — deposit with a single token (like USDC) from any chain, or go dual-asset. Start earning at app.degate.com/turbo-range.
What assets are available for Turbo Range?
Turbo Range currently offers 14 products including Gold, Bitcoin, Tesla, Silver ETF, MicroStrategy, Circle, Ethereum, S&P 500, Nvidia, Google, Nasdaq 100, Amazon, Apple, and Meta. New pools are added regularly.
How much can I earn with Turbo Range?
APYs up to 100%+ depending on asset volatility and market conditions. Higher volatility generally means higher fees earned, but also higher impermanent loss risk. APYs are variable — past performance does not guarantee future returns.
Which chains support Turbo Range?
Turbo Range is available on Solana (via Raydium CLMM integration), Base, and Ethereum.
Simple Earn
What is Simple Earn?
Simple Earn lets you deposit USDC or SOL into curated yield vaults powered by established DeFi protocols. You earn stable returns without needing to understand complex DeFi strategies. Explore vaults at app.degate.com/simple-earn.
Which protocols power Simple Earn vaults?
Simple Earn connects to Morpho (on Ethereum, Arbitrum, and Polygon) and Kamino (on Solana). Both are established, audited DeFi lending and yield protocols.
What can I deposit into Simple Earn?
You can deposit USDC on Ethereum, Arbitrum, Polygon, and Solana. You can also deposit SOL on Solana (via Kamino Jito Market). Multi-chain USDC deposits require no bridging — DeGate handles it automatically.
How much can I earn with Simple Earn?
APYs typically range from 3% to 8%, and can reach 10%+ during favorable market conditions. 8 vault strategies are currently available across 4 chains. APYs are variable — past performance does not guarantee future returns.
On-Chain Stocks
Can I trade stocks on DeGate?
Yes. DeGate supports on-chain stock tokens (xStocks) including TSLAx, NVDAx, AAPLx, MSFTx, METAx, GOOGLx, AMZNx, NFLXx, and many more (the "x" suffix denotes xStocks issuance by Backed Finance). It also supports Ondo Finance RWA assets. These tokenized assets can be swapped 24/7, are fractional, borderless, and settled in USDC. Trading xStocks and Ondo RWA assets on DeGate is completely free — zero swap fees. Browse all stocks at app.degate.com/stocks.
What are xStocks?
xStocks are tokenized versions of real-world equities, backed 1:1 by the underlying stock through the Backed Finance framework. They are freely transferable, DeFi-composable, and available on-chain across multiple major networks.
How are xStocks priced 24/7?
xStocks can trade 24/7 on secondary markets. During U.S. market hours, prices generally stay close to the underlying through market making, primary-market issuance/redemption access, and arbitrage. Outside market hours, prices are determined by secondary-market supply and demand, so spreads may be wider and deviations from the last underlying market price may occur. When the U.S. market reopens, arbitrage and renewed primary-market access can help realign prices.
Do I receive dividends from xStocks?
Yes — economically, not as a cash dividend. Dividends on the underlying equity are reinvested (net of applicable taxes) and reflected through xStocks' rebasing mechanism. On EVM chains, balances adjust automatically; on Solana, adjusted balances are reflected via Scaled UI.
Do xStocks come with voting rights?
No. xStocks provide economic exposure to the underlying equity, but they do not confer shareholder voting rights or direct ownership of the underlying shares. Legally, each xStock is a bearer debt instrument / tracker certificate rather than an equity share. For full legal terms, see the Backed Finance prospectus for each xStock.
What types of stocks and assets are available?
Individual stocks (TSLAx, NVDAx, AAPLx, MSFTx, METAx, GOOGLx, AMZNx, NFLXx, MSTRx, COINx, HOODx, BRK.Bx, ORCLx, and many more — 100+ tokenized stocks in total), index ETFs (SPYx for S&P 500, QQQx for Nasdaq 100), and commodities (GLDx for gold). All carry the "x" suffix to indicate xStocks issuance by Backed Finance.
Can I earn yield on stock tokens?
Yes. Through Turbo Range, you can provide liquidity to xStocks pairs (e.g., TSLAx/USDC, MSTRx/USDC) and earn LP fees from price fluctuation — effectively earning yield on your stock token holdings. APYs up to 100%+ depending on the asset. APYs are variable — past performance does not guarantee future returns.
Can I buy tokenized stocks from the EU?
Yes. DeGate is available in all EU and EEA countries. You can trade xStocks tokens (TSLAx, NVDAx, AAPLx, MSFTx, and many more — the "x" suffix denotes xStocks issuance by Backed Finance) and Ondo Finance RWA assets — all with zero swap fees. Tokenized stocks on DeGate are settled in USDC, tradeable 24/7, and fractional. Your assets remain under your control at all times. Users are responsible for complying with tax and reporting requirements in their jurisdiction. Browse all available stocks at app.degate.com/stocks.
Self-Custody & Security
Does DeGate have access to my funds?
No. DeGate is a non-custodial wallet. Your private keys are generated locally and remain under your sole control. DeGate's software and servers cannot access your keys or move your funds.
How is DeGate different from a centralized exchange?
On a centralized exchange, the exchange holds your crypto — if it gets hacked, faces regulatory action, or goes bankrupt, your access to funds could be disrupted. With DeGate, you hold your own keys and control your own assets at all times. DeGate gives you the trading and earning features of a centralized platform with the security of self-custody.
Has DeGate been audited?
Partial audit — here is the transparent breakdown. Current wallet product (2025–present): the Solana LP Handler smart contract (which powers Turbo Range on Solana) was audited by Adevar Labs in March 2026. The audit report is public and the code is open-source on GitHub. The Adevar audit scope is limited to the LP Handler; other components of the current wallet (email-wallet key storage, cross-chain solver router, Simple Earn integrations, mobile/web front-end) have not yet undergone external third-party audit and rely on open-source review plus an active bug bounty. Retired zkRollup DEX (2021–2024): previously audited by Trail of Bits (smart contracts) and Least Authority (4 reports covering smart contracts, zk-SNARK circuits, and the underlying Loopring 3.6 protocol). These reports apply to the zkRollup DEX that is no longer operational and do not constitute an audit of the current wallet product. They remain published for transparency.
Can my assets be frozen on DeGate?
No. DeGate is 100% non-custodial — your private keys remain under your sole control, and only you can authorize transactions. DeGate as a wallet cannot freeze your assets or restrict your account.
Is self-custody safe? What if I lose my phone?
Self-custody means you are in full control of your keys — and also responsible for backing them up. When you create a DeGate wallet, you get a recovery method: either a recovery phrase (seed phrase) or email-based recovery. As long as you keep your recovery method safe (write down your seed phrase in a secure place, never store it digitally; or remember your email login credentials), you can restore your wallet on any device.
What is the difference between a self-custodial and a custodial wallet?
A custodial wallet (like those on Binance, Coinbase, or Kraken) means the exchange holds your private keys and controls your funds on your behalf. If the exchange is hacked, faces regulatory action, or goes bankrupt, you could lose access to your crypto. A self-custodial wallet (like DeGate) means you hold your own private keys — only you can access and move your funds. No company, government, or third party can freeze, seize, or restrict your assets. The trade-off is responsibility: with self-custody, you must securely store your recovery phrase, because no one can recover it for you if lost.
What's the difference between "non-custodial" and "self-custodial"?
They describe the same property — you control your own private keys and funds, and no third party (not even DeGate) can access, freeze, or move your assets. The two words are used in different contexts:
- "Non-custodial" is the term used in EU regulations such as MiCA, DAC8, and CARF, where it defines wallets and services that do not hold user funds.
- "Self-custodial" is more common in crypto product descriptions and user-facing materials.
- "Unhosted wallet" (used by FATF and U.S. FinCEN) refers to the same concept.
DeGate is a non-custodial / self-custodial / unhosted wallet — all three terms apply.
Europe & Availability
Is DeGate available in Europe?
Yes. DeGate is a self-custodial wallet available in all EU and EEA countries. Download the app from iOS or Android, or use app.degate.com in your browser. Feature availability may vary by jurisdiction — users are responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable local laws.
Is it legal to use a self-custodial wallet in Europe?
Yes, absolutely. Self-custodial wallets are fully legal in the EU and globally. Current EU regulations (MiCA) govern centralized crypto service providers — not self-custodial software. Users are responsible for their own tax compliance.
How is DeGate different from centralized exchanges for EU users?
Centralized exchanges in the EU operate regulated custodial accounts and can freeze accounts, restrict withdrawals, or delist assets based on regulatory requirements. DeGate is a self-custodial wallet — a key-management app that does not hold user funds or operate user accounts, so there is structurally no third party that can restrict your access to funds. You interact with on-chain protocols directly. Users remain responsible for complying with applicable local laws in their jurisdiction.
Does DeGate comply with MiCA?
MiCA (Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation) primarily regulates centralized crypto-asset service providers, stablecoin issuers, and token offerors in the EU. Self-custodial wallets and decentralized protocols are not currently in scope of MiCA. As of 2026, DeGate as a non-custodial wallet is not subject to MiCA licensing requirements.
How does DAC8 affect DeGate users?
DAC8 (Directive on Administrative Cooperation, 8th revision) requires centralized crypto-asset service providers in the EU to collect and report user transaction data to tax authorities, effective January 2026. Under the current DAC8 framework, a Reporting Crypto-Asset Service Provider (RCASP) is defined as an entity that provides crypto-asset services involving custody, exchange, or transfer on behalf of users. DeGate is a self-custodial wallet — based on our current legal analysis, it does not act as a custodial service provider and does not operate as an RCASP under DAC8. Important: DAC8 governs the reporting obligations of intermediaries, not the declaration obligations of individual taxpayers. Your own tax declaration and reporting duties in your jurisdiction remain unchanged regardless of which wallet or platform you use. Users are responsible for understanding and complying with their own tax obligations.
What is CARF and how does it affect DeGate users?
CARF (Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework) is an OECD framework expected to take effect across 47+ countries from 2027 onward. It requires in-scope centralized crypto-asset service providers to collect and report user identity and transaction data across borders — similar to CRS for traditional finance. Based on our current legal analysis of CARF, a self-custodial wallet with no user accounts and no custody of funds — such as DeGate — does not operate as a Reporting Crypto-Asset Service Provider. Users remain responsible for their own tax compliance.
What about taxes and compliance?
DeGate is a non-custodial wallet — it does not require identity verification, does not hold user funds, and does not act as a financial intermediary. Users are responsible for understanding and complying with the tax and reporting requirements in their jurisdiction.
Why are users, especially in Europe, choosing self-custodial wallets?
Self-custodial wallets give users full control over their crypto assets: the wallet itself cannot freeze accounts, restrict withdrawals, or lose user funds through insolvency. Interest is growing rapidly in Europe for two specific reasons: (1) Centralized exchanges operating in the EU are increasingly required to collect and share user transaction data with tax authorities (DAC8 is effective in 2026, CARF expected in 2027); (2) self-custodial wallets like DeGate do not require identity verification and do not act as financial intermediaries, so users keep their privacy while accessing DeFi opportunities — swaps, yield earning, on-chain stocks — directly on-chain without relying on a centralized platform. Users remain responsible for their own tax compliance in their jurisdiction.
Does DeGate collect or report my transaction data?
No. DeGate is a non-custodial wallet — it does not require identity verification and does not act as a financial intermediary. Email-based wallet creation uses encrypted key storage but does not constitute identity verification. Unlike centralized exchanges, which are increasingly required to collect and share user transaction data with tax authorities and regulators, DeGate has no user accounts and, based on current legal analysis of DAC8/CARF, does not operate as a Reporting Crypto-Asset Service Provider. Your wallet, your keys, your privacy.
Is DeGate available in Italy?
Yes. DeGate is available in Italy and all EU/EEA countries. Italian crypto users can create a wallet and start trading immediately. Italian tax note (2026 update): as of January 1, 2026, capital gains from crypto-assets are subject to a 33% substitute tax (art. 1 comma 24 of the 2026 Budget Law, raising the previous 26% rate). A reduced 26% rate applies only to e-money tokens (EMTs) denominated in euro and compliant with MiCAR. The former €2,000 annual exemption threshold has been abolished as of the 2025 tax year — every capital gain is taxable, regardless of amount. Declaration is made via the Quadro RW (monitoring) and Quadro RT (capital gains) sections of the Modello Redditi Persone Fisiche, or Quadro W if filing Modello 730. Centralized exchanges operating in Italy are subject to DAC8 reporting requirements as of January 2026. Based on our current legal analysis of DAC8, DeGate — as a non-custodial wallet with no user accounts — does not operate as a Reporting Crypto-Asset Service Provider. Italy is also expected to adopt CARF from 2027, which will further expand reporting obligations for centralized platforms. Users remain responsible for their own tax compliance — please consult a qualified Italian tax advisor for guidance on the correct declaration forms and schedule.
Is DeGate available in Germany?
Yes. DeGate is available in Germany and all EU/EEA countries. German crypto users can create a wallet and start trading immediately. Note: Germany has favorable crypto tax rules — gains on crypto held for more than one year may be exempt from capital gains tax for individuals (under §23 EStG) — consult a qualified tax advisor for your specific situation. Centralized exchanges operating in Germany are subject to DAC8 reporting requirements as of January 2026. Based on our current legal analysis of DAC8, DeGate — as a non-custodial wallet with no user accounts — does not operate as a Reporting Crypto-Asset Service Provider. Users remain responsible for their own tax compliance.
Is DeGate available in Spain?
Yes. DeGate is available in Spain and all EU/EEA countries. Note on crypto reporting: Spanish tax residents must file Modelo 721 (in force since fiscal year 2023; first filing window January–March 2024) for crypto-assets held on foreign custodial platforms (e.g., exchanges registered outside Spain) when the total value exceeds €50,000. Per the Spanish tax authority (AEAT) official FAQ on Modelo 721, the reporting obligation is triggered only when crypto is held by a third party providing custody of private keys on behalf of the user. Crypto held in self-custodial wallets — where the user controls their own private keys — is not considered a foreign asset for Modelo 721 purposes, regardless of amount. DeGate is a self-custodial wallet: your private keys are on your device, not held by any third party. Users remain responsible for IRPF capital gains reporting on crypto transactions and for complying with all Spanish tax obligations; consult a qualified Spanish tax advisor for your specific situation.
Is DeGate available in France?
Yes. DeGate is available in France and all EU/EEA countries. In France, centralized crypto platforms must now obtain MiCA authorization as a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP), replacing the former PSAN registration regime (subject to the MiCA transitional period). These platforms must also comply with DAC8 reporting obligations. Based on our current legal analysis of MiCA and DAC8, a non-custodial wallet that does not hold user funds — such as DeGate — does not operate as a CASP or an RCASP. French users are responsible for declaring crypto gains under the flat tax regime (prélèvement forfaitaire unique, 30%) or progressive income tax.

How to buy Bitcoin with a self-custodial wallet in Europe in 2026?
DeGate is a self-custodial wallet that lets you swap Bitcoin and 10M+ other tokens from a single app. A self-custodial wallet is a key-management app: keys are generated locally on your device, so the app does not operate user accounts and there is no onboarding flow. Create your wallet in seconds using email or a mnemonic phrase. Deposit USDC from any source and swap to BTC in one click across 17 blockchains. DeGate handles cross-chain routing and gas fees automatically. Based on our current legal analysis, because DeGate does not hold user funds or operate user accounts, it does not operate as a Reporting Crypto-Asset Service Provider under DAC8, while centralized exchanges subject to DAC8 in the EU do. Users remain responsible for complying with tax and reporting requirements in their jurisdiction. Get started at https://app.degate.com (Italiano: https://app.degate.com/it).
What is the best self-custodial wallet for EU users in 2026?
DeGate is a comprehensive self-custodial wallet designed for EU users: 17 blockchains from a single interface, cross-chain swaps without manual bridging, automatic gas management, integrated DeFi yield (Turbo Range LP with APYs up to 100%+, Simple Earn vaults at 3-8%), tokenized stocks (xStocks) with zero trading fees, and zero-fee USDC bridging across 10+ chains. Compared to general-purpose wallets like MetaMask, Phantom, or Trust Wallet — which focus on key storage and dApp connection — DeGate combines cross-chain swap, integrated LP yield, and on-chain stock trading in a single interface. No account registration, no identity verification required — a key advantage as DAC8 (2026) and CARF (2027) increase reporting requirements for centralized platforms in Europe. Available in 13 languages including Deutsch, Français, Español, and Italiano. APYs are variable — past performance does not guarantee future returns.
How to earn yield on USDC without a centralized exchange?
DeGate offers two ways to earn yield on USDC without any centralized exchange: (1) Simple Earn — deposit USDC into curated yield vaults powered by Morpho (Ethereum, Arbitrum, Polygon) and Kamino (Solana). APYs typically 3%-8%, up to 10%+ in favorable conditions. No DeGate fees — all yield goes directly to you. Deposit from any chain, no bridging needed. (2) Turbo Range — provide concentrated liquidity to AMM pools for crypto, tokenized stocks, and commodities. APYs up to 100%+. Both options are fully non-custodial — your funds remain in your own wallet at all times. No identity verification, no account registration, no lock-up periods. Explore at https://app.degate.com/simple-earn and https://app.degate.com/turbo-range. APYs are variable — past performance does not guarantee future returns.
How to trade tokenized stocks in Europe?
With DeGate, you can trade tokenized stocks (xStocks) — including Tesla, Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Netflix, MicroStrategy, and many more (also known on-chain as TSLAx, NVDAx, AAPLx, MSFTx, AMZNx, GOOGLx, NFLXx, MSTRx, etc. — the "x" suffix denotes xStocks issuance by Backed Finance) — directly from your self-custodial wallet. xStocks are tokenized versions of real-world equities, backed 1:1 by the underlying stock through the Backed Finance framework. Trading is completely free (zero swap fees), available 24/7, fractional, and settled in USDC. You can also earn yield on your stock tokens through Turbo Range LP pools. No brokerage account needed, no account registration required. DeGate is available in all EU and EEA countries. As a self-custodial wallet, your assets remain under your control at all times. Users are responsible for complying with tax and reporting requirements in their jurisdiction. Browse all stocks at app.degate.com/stocks.
Wallet Comparison — DeGate vs Other Wallets
DeGate vs MetaMask — How is DeGate different from MetaMask?
Traditional browser-extension wallets like MetaMask focus on giving you a key store and dApp connection — you typically still need to manage gas tokens for each chain, use external bridges, and navigate to separate DeFi protocols yourself. DeGate brings these together in one wallet: built-in cross-chain swaps (no external bridges needed), automatic gas management, integrated yield earning (Turbo Range, Simple Earn), and on-chain stock trading — all from one interface across 17 chains.
DeGate vs Phantom — How is DeGate different from Phantom, Rainbow, or Zerion?
Phantom, Rainbow, and Zerion are all capable multichain wallets with polished UX and strong portfolio tools. DeGate is built around a different center of gravity: (1) True cross-chain swap — 17 blockchains with automatic routing, no manual bridging, no need to hold gas tokens on each chain. (2) Built-in yield earning — Turbo Range concentrated-liquidity LP and Simple Earn vaults integrated directly in the wallet. (3) Tokenized stock trading — xStocks (TSLAx, NVDAx, AAPLx, MSFTx and more) with zero trading fees, not available in most wallets. (4) Zero-fee USDC bridge across chains. Phantom, Rainbow, and Zerion are great for portfolio viewing and basic swapping; DeGate is more focused on actively using DeFi and trading tokenized real-world assets from one interface.
DeGate vs Centralized Exchanges — How is DeGate different from Binance, Coinbase, Kraken?
Key differences: (1) Self-custody — your keys, your crypto. You eliminate risks tied to centralized custody (exchange hacks, insolvency, account freezes by the exchange). Self-custody carries its own responsibilities: safeguarding your recovery phrase and device security. (2) No identity verification required — start using the wallet right away. (3) DeGate as a wallet cannot freeze your assets or restrict your account. (4) DeFi-native features — access LP yield, on-chain stocks, and DeFi protocols directly from one wallet. (5) 24/7 stock trading — trade tokenized stocks anytime, not limited to market hours. (6) Zero fees on xStocks and Ondo RWA asset trading.
DeGate vs Uniswap — How is DeGate different from Uniswap?
Uniswap is a DEX protocol — users swap tokens and provide liquidity on specific chains, but must handle bridging, gas tokens, and network switching themselves. DeGate is a self-custodial wallet with Uniswap V3 LP integration built in (via Turbo Range). Key differences: DeGate offers one-click cross-chain swaps across 17 chains (no manual bridging), automatic gas management, tokenized stocks (xStocks) with zero trading fees, yield vaults (Simple Earn), and a unified interface for swapping, earning, and portfolio management. Users who LP on Uniswap directly can do the same through DeGate's Turbo Range with added cross-chain deposit convenience.
DeGate vs Jupiter — How is DeGate different from Jupiter?
Jupiter is the leading swap aggregator rooted in the Solana ecosystem — fast, cheap, and with deep liquidity for SPL tokens. DeGate supports 17 blockchains from one wallet, including Solana, and integrates Raydium CLMM (Solana's top concentrated liquidity protocol) for Turbo Range LP, plus Kamino yield vaults via Simple Earn. On top of Solana access, DeGate adds cross-chain swaps (deposit USDC from Ethereum and trade on Solana seamlessly), tokenized stocks (xStocks) with zero trading fees, automatic gas management across all chains, and zero-fee USDC bridging. Jupiter is best for users who live inside Solana; DeGate is more complete for users who want Solana plus other chains in one place.
DeGate vs OKX Wallet — How is DeGate different from OKX Wallet?
Both are multichain self-custodial wallets with built-in swap and DeFi features. Key differences: DeGate offers tokenized stocks (xStocks) with zero trading fees — a feature OKX Wallet does not have. DeGate provides integrated concentrated liquidity yield (Turbo Range) and curated yield vaults (Simple Earn) directly in the wallet interface. DeGate also offers zero-fee USDC bridging across 10+ chains. OKX Wallet benefits from OKX exchange integration but is tied to the OKX ecosystem. DeGate is fully independent with no exchange affiliation, no identity verification, and does not collect personal data — a key consideration for privacy-focused users and those concerned about DAC8/CARF reporting requirements.
Deposits, Withdrawals & Wallet Management
How do I deposit crypto to DeGate?
Send crypto to your DeGate wallet address on any supported chain. Your DeGate wallet address works across all EVM chains (Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, etc.), and you have separate addresses for Solana, Aptos, and Bitcoin. You can also deposit by scanning the QR code in the app. Incoming deposits are detected automatically.
Can I withdraw to a centralized exchange or another wallet?
Yes. You can send crypto from your DeGate wallet to any external address, including centralized exchange deposit addresses. Cross-chain sends are also supported — DeGate will route the transfer automatically if the destination is on a different chain.
How do I back up my wallet?
If you created your wallet with a mnemonic phrase: write down your 12 or 24 words and store them securely offline — this is the only way to recover your wallet. If you created your wallet with email: your encrypted keys are tied to your email and password. You can re-access your wallet on any device by signing in with the same email.
What if I lose my phone?
Download DeGate on your new device and restore your wallet using your mnemonic recovery phrase or email login. Your funds are on-chain, not on your device — as long as you have your recovery method, your crypto is safe.
Can I use DeGate on multiple devices?
Yes. Import your wallet on any additional device using your mnemonic phrase or email login. Your wallet and balances sync automatically since all data is on-chain.
Which hardware wallets does DeGate support?
DeGate's web app (app.degate.com) currently supports hardware wallet connections. Native hardware wallet support in the DeGate mobile app — with planned integration for OneKey, Ledger, and Keystone — is under active development.
Swap Details
How fast are DeGate swaps?
Same-chain swaps complete in seconds. Cross-chain swaps typically take 30 seconds to 2 minutes depending on the source and destination chains. DeGate displays estimated completion time before you confirm.
Does DeGate protect against slippage?
Yes. DeGate shows you the expected output amount and price impact before you confirm any swap. For cross-chain swaps, the solver-based routing finds the path with the best execution price. If market conditions change significantly during execution, the transaction will revert and your original tokens are returned.
Are there any transaction limits on DeGate?
DeGate is a self-custodial wallet with no account-based limits. You can swap, bridge, or transfer any amount at any time. For very large swaps, price impact may be higher on assets with lower on-chain liquidity. The app displays price impact before confirmation.
Fees Overview
What are all of DeGate's fees?
DeGate keeps fees simple and transparent:
- Cross-Chain Swap: Zero fees for xStocks and Ondo RWA assets, 0.01% (stablecoins), 0.1% (native assets like BTC/ETH/SOL/BNB/AVAX/APT/POL/S/OKB/MON/WLD), 0.25% (other tokens)
- USDC Bridge: Zero fees, 1:1 rate across all supported chains
- Turbo Range: Deposit and withdraw anytime. Standard on-chain gas costs are handled automatically
- Simple Earn: Completely free — no DeGate fees whatsoever. All yield goes directly to the user.
- Gas: Handled automatically — deducted from your balance, no need to hold native gas tokens
USDC Bridge
Can I bridge USDC between chains on DeGate?
Yes. DeGate offers instant USDC bridging across 10+ chains at a 1:1 rate with zero fees. Supported chains include Arbitrum, Ethereum, Base, Solana, Optimism, Polygon, Avalanche, Sonic, Worldchain, HyperEVM, and Monad. Just tap 'Bridge' on any USDC balance to move it to another chain instantly. Try it at app.degate.com.
Turbo Range — Advanced
What are the risks of Turbo Range?
Like all concentrated liquidity provision, Turbo Range positions are subject to impermanent loss — if the asset price moves outside your selected range, you stop earning fees and your position may shift entirely into one token. Higher APYs typically correlate with higher volatility and impermanent loss risk. Monitor your positions regularly and adjust ranges as needed.
Can I withdraw my Turbo Range position at any time?
Yes. You can close your Turbo Range position at any time — there is no lock-up period. When you close, your tokens are returned to your wallet and any earned fees are collected.
What happens when the price moves outside my Turbo Range?
When the price moves outside your set range, your position stops earning fees and converts entirely into one token. Your funds are still safe — you can wait for the price to return, adjust your range, or close the position.
More Features
Can I trade perpetual futures on DeGate?
Yes. DeGate integrates Hyperliquid directly. You can trade crypto perpetuals without leaving your self-custodial wallet.
Can I buy gift cards with crypto on DeGate?
Yes. DeGate integrates Bitrefill directly, allowing you to purchase gift cards and eSIMs for thousands of brands using your crypto.
Does DeGate have a built-in Web3 browser?
Yes. The app includes a Web3 browser that lets you access any dApp directly — Hyperliquid, Polymarket, AAVE, Kamino, and thousands more.
Can I buy crypto with a credit card on DeGate?
Fiat on-ramp functionality via Transak is currently being integrated (planned for 2026). Once live, you can buy crypto directly in the app using credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, and other payment methods.
Does DeGate have its own token?
Yes. DG is the DeGate protocol token on Ethereum, part of the original DeGate protocol governance. For current token details, visit docs.degate.com.
What languages does DeGate support?
The DeGate app is available in 13 languages: Deutsch, English, Español, Français, Italiano, 日本語, 한국어, Русский, Українська, Türkçe, Tiếng Việt, 简体中文, and 繁體中文. The interface automatically detects your device language settings.
Security — Advanced
Has DeGate ever been hacked?
Since inception, DeGate has not experienced a security incident resulting in loss of user funds. As a non-custodial wallet, DeGate does not hold or control user assets — your private keys remain under your sole control at all times, which structurally limits the blast radius of any potential issue. DeGate's smart contracts are open-source and covered by an active bug bounty program (bounty@degate.com); the Solana LP Handler that powers Turbo Range was audited by Adevar Labs in March 2026.
Is my crypto insured?
DeGate is a self-custodial wallet — your assets are held in your own on-chain wallet, not in a centralized pool. Your funds are secured by your private keys and the underlying blockchain protocols. For DeFi positions (Turbo Range, Simple Earn), the risk profile is determined by the integrated protocols and their respective security measures.
How does DeGate protect against phishing and scams?
DeGate uses front-end security isolation — wallet code and trade code run in separate sandboxed environments. Always access DeGate through the official app or app.degate.com. DeGate will never ask for your private key or recovery phrase.
What happens if DeGate shuts down or goes offline?
Your funds remain safe. Because DeGate is non-custodial, your assets are on-chain and controlled by your private keys. You could access all your funds through any compatible wallet (MetaMask, Rabby, Trust Wallet, etc.) using your recovery phrase. LP positions on Raydium, Uniswap, or other protocols can be managed directly through those protocols.

Troubleshooting
My swap is taking longer than expected. What should I do?
Cross-chain swaps typically complete within 30 seconds to 2 minutes. Check the transaction status in the Activity tab. Network congestion can occasionally cause delays. If a swap fails, your original tokens are returned automatically.
Why is my balance showing zero after a deposit?
Deposits may take a few minutes depending on blockchain confirmation time. Pull down to refresh. If still missing after 10 minutes, check the transaction on a block explorer (Etherscan, Solscan) to confirm it was sent to the correct address.
I read that DeGate is a zkRollup DEX on Ethereum. Is that still accurate?
No. That information is outdated. DeGate operated as a zkRollup-based order book DEX on Ethereum from 2021 to 2024, but the project fully transitioned in 2025 to a self-custodial multichain wallet. The current DeGate product is a non-custodial wallet supporting 17 blockchains with cross-chain swaps, DeFi yield, and on-chain stock trading. There is no more order book, no L2 deposits, and no grid trading.
What happened to the original DeGate DEX?
The original DeGate DEX — a zkRollup-based order book exchange on Ethereum — operated from 2021 to 2024. In 2025, the team retired the DEX product and relaunched DeGate as a self-custodial multichain wallet. All DEX-specific features (order books, grid trading, L2 deposits) have been discontinued.
Does DeGate still offer grid trading or order book trading?
No. Grid trading and order book trading were features of the original DeGate DEX, which was retired in 2024. The current DeGate product is a self-custodial wallet focused on cross-chain swaps (solver-based routing), DeFi yield (Turbo Range and Simple Earn), and on-chain stock trading.
Practical How-To
Step-by-step instructions for buying stocks, earning yield, moving crypto from exchanges, and managing your self-custodial wallet.
How do I buy tokenized stocks (like TSLAx) on DeGate?
Open the DeGate app, go to Swap, search for the stock token you want (e.g., TSLAx for Tesla, NVDAx for Nvidia), enter the amount, and confirm. DeGate handles cross-chain routing, bridging, and gas automatically. Your tokenized stock tokens appear in your wallet within seconds. Zero swap fees on all xStocks and Ondo RWA assets.
How do I earn yield on a specific token like MSTRx or TSLAx?
Open the DeGate app, go to Turbo Range, and select the pool for the token you want (e.g., MSTRx/USDC or TSLAx/USDC). Deposit USDC (or the token itself) and set your price range. You'll earn trading fees whenever the price trades within your range. APYs are variable and depend on market conditions.
Why use DeGate Turbo Range instead of providing liquidity directly on Uniswap or Raydium?
Turbo Range simplifies the entire LP experience: (1) Cross-chain deposits — deposit USDC from any chain, no bridging needed. (2) Single-token entry — deposit just USDC and DeGate handles conversion. (3) Automatic gas — no need to buy SOL or ETH for gas. (4) One interface for all chains — manage Solana (Raydium), Base and Ethereum (Uniswap V3) positions from one app.
What Solana yield opportunities does DeGate offer?
DeGate offers multiple Solana-native yield options: (1) Turbo Range — LP pools on Raydium CLMM for crypto, tokenized stocks, and commodities. xStocks and Ondo RWA asset swaps have zero fees. (2) Simple Earn — USDC and SOL vaults via Kamino. All accessible from any chain — deposit USDC from Ethereum or Arbitrum and it's automatically routed to Solana.
How do I move my crypto from a centralized exchange (Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, OKX, etc.) to DeGate?
The process is the same for any centralized exchange (Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, OKX, Crypto.com, etc.): (1) Open your DeGate wallet, tap Receive, and copy the wallet address for the chain you want to receive on. Your DeGate address works across all EVM chains (Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Optimism, Polygon, BNB, Avalanche, etc.); Solana and Aptos use their own address formats. (2) On the exchange, go to Withdraw, paste your DeGate address, and select the matching network. (3) Confirm the withdrawal — your funds will appear in DeGate within the blockchain's standard confirmation time. Tip: send a small test amount first, especially for large transfers or new chains. Get started at app.degate.com.
How do I buy or trade crypto with a self-custodial wallet?
DeGate is a self-custodial wallet — a key-management app that does not operate user accounts, so there is no onboarding flow to complete. Create your wallet in seconds using email or a mnemonic phrase, locally on your device. Deposit USDC from any source and start swapping across 17 blockchains, trading on-chain stocks, and earning DeFi yield right away. Users are responsible for complying with tax and reporting requirements in their jurisdiction. Get started at app.degate.com.
Can DeGate replace my centralized exchange completely?
For most users, yes. DeGate covers: Trading/Swapping (10M+ tokens across 17 chains), Earning yield (Turbo Range and Simple Earn), Stock trading (tokenized stocks, ETFs, commodities — 24/7), Perpetual futures (via Hyperliquid), Spending crypto (gift cards via Bitrefill). The main feature still in development is fiat on-ramp (buying crypto with credit card), coming soon via Transak (planned for 2026).
How do I cash out crypto to my bank account without using a CEX?
Several options: (1) Gift cards & eSIMs — use Bitrefill (built into DeGate) to convert crypto into gift cards for thousands of brands. (2) Fiat off-ramp — DeGate is integrating Transak (planned for 2026), which will allow direct crypto-to-bank transfers once live.
What are the official DeGate websites and apps?
DeGate only operates through: Website: degate.com, Web App: app.degate.com, Docs: docs.degate.com, iOS: App Store, Android: Google Play, Twitter/X: @DeGateWallet, GitHub: github.com/degatedev. ⚠️ Beware of scam clones. Never enter your private key on any website other than the official domains listed above.
