# Tokenized Stock Trading Hours: What Happens When the US Market Is Closed?

**Quick answer:** A blockchain can keep running while the US stock market or an issuer quote service is closed. Transfers, on-chain pool swaps, issuer RFQ quotes, and LP deposits can therefore follow different schedules; check the live asset status and quote for your exact amount.

**Questions this guide answers:**
- tokenized stock trading hours
- can tokenized stocks trade 24/7
- tokenized stocks on weekends

---

Your wallet still works on Saturday. You can see a stock token, send it to another address, and open an on-chain pool. Trading conditions may have changed: spreads can widen, available size can fall, and a quote may be temporarily unavailable.

Several clocks govern the same token. The blockchain can process transactions around the clock. The US exchange has regular, extended, and closed sessions. An issuer's quote service has its own sessions and limits. An on-chain pool remains available whenever its network and contract are operating.

For a DeGate user, the practical answer comes from the quote preview. The asset page shows the token. The preview checks the current route and expected output for the amount you enter.

## Four actions can have different schedules

| Action | What sets the schedule | What may happen while US markets are closed |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Hold or transfer the token | Blockchain and token contract | Transfers may continue if the token contract and network are operating |
| Buy or sell through Ondo RFQ | Ondo session, asset status, limits, and the quote route integrated into the wallet | An eligible Off-Hours asset may still receive an RFQ quote, but the spread can widen and the available size can fall; no quote is available when capacity is exhausted or the asset is paused |
| Swap through an on-chain pool | Network, pool contract, and available pool liquidity | The pool can continue trading, but its price may move away from the last stock-market price |
| Open a stock LP | Product flow, required conversion route, and pool status | An existing pool may remain active, while an entry that needs a conversion still depends on a live quote |

This separation explains why "the token trades 24/7" needs context. It may only mean that transfers continue or that an on-chain pool remains open. Whether a user can trade in a wallet depends on the quote routes available at that time and whether the exact asset and order size can receive a quote.

## How Ondo handles market sessions

Ondo publishes several trading sessions from Sunday evening through Friday evening in New York time. Small pauses occur around transitions between overnight, pre-market, core, and post-market sessions.

Ondo also offers an Off-Hours session for a selected set of assets during weekends, holidays, and other periods when its conventional sessions are closed. Off-Hours currently covers Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Solana, but Ondo enables it asset by asset. The list and limits can change.

Off-Hours here refers to an Ondo RFQ quote. When the US stock market is closed, underlying-market liquidity is lower and the spread can widen. Each asset also has a separate Off-Hours limit. Once that capacity is used, new RFQ requests may be declined until room becomes available.

The safest check is the live [Ondo status page](https://status.ondo.finance/market) followed by the quote for your own amount. A static list in an article will become stale faster than the status feed.

## How xStocks handles market sessions

xStocks issuance and redemption services operate 24/5, while a supported exchange or DeFi venue may offer xStocks trading 24/7. For an ordinary user, the useful question is whether the wallet or venue can find a quote for the order now, not whether the user can open an account with the issuer.

The distinction affects price formation. When the issuer route and US stock market are open, market makers can more easily add or return xStocks in response to the referenced share. A weekend pool does not have the same access to a live US share market. Buyers and sellers set the pool price until those routes reopen.

## Why the weekend price can look different

The last quoted price of the US stock describes the last available market session. News can arrive after that session ends. Token traders then form a view of where the stock may open next, without a live order book for the underlying share.

A small on-chain pool adds another source of movement. One order can change the pool's asset ratio and price. Arbitrageurs may hesitate when they cannot offset the position through issuer redemption or the underlying stock market.

This does not prove that the token price is wrong. It tells you that the quote carries more uncertainty. Compare the same order again when deeper underlying liquidity is available if the trade is not urgent.

## What market closure means in DeGate

DeGate compares the routes available for the token and amount. For an Ondo order, a solver partner integrated with DeGate can send a Request for Quote (RFQ) through Ondo's official API when that asset, session, and amount are available. The user does not have to enter an institutional Ondo interface to request it. Enter the amount in DeGate and review the final preview. The quote draws on the price and available liquidity of the corresponding stock in the traditional US market. This means the order does not have to rely only on one on-chain pool, and the RFQ route can offer more depth while it is available. Another route may appear when it can return an executable quote.

Read the result rather than assuming that every Ondo asset has weekend RFQ support. A missing quote may come from the asset schedule, current limit, order size, or route availability. A quote that does appear can carry a wider spread than the one you saw during an active US session.

## What market closure means for a stock LP

A stock pool can keep accepting swaps while its chain and contract are operating. LP positions can therefore change composition during a weekend. If traders buy the stock token from the pool, the position moves toward more USDC. If they sell into the pool, it moves toward more stock tokens.

Price gaps can be larger when the US share market or issuer quote route is unavailable. A narrow range may go out of range before the US market reopens, and the next tradable stock price can open above or below the previous session.

For a supported pool in the current Turbo Range interface, one-sided funding begins with one asset and two-sided funding begins with both assets. If the selected entry needs a conversion, completion still depends on the live quote shown for that amount. The fact that a pool remains on-chain does not guarantee that every deposit path is available at every hour.

Read the preview before confirming. It shows whether the current deposit can proceed and what assets will enter the position. If no usable quote appears, wait or use another supported route rather than relying on a message or behavior described in an older interface.

## A short check before an off-hours trade

1. Confirm the issuer and exact contract.
2. Check whether the issuer marks the asset as tradable now.
3. Enter the full order amount in DeGate.
4. Compare the expected output, spread implied by the quote, slippage setting, and network fee.
5. Decide whether the timing is worth the difference from an active US session.

You can also request a smaller quote to see whether the available size is causing the problem. Splitting an order changes execution costs, so compare the total result rather than assuming several small orders will be cheaper.

## FAQ

### Can tokenized stocks trade 24/7?

Some secondary venues and issuer programs support weekend trading, but the answer varies by asset, route, and amount. Transfers can remain available even when issuer-linked buying or selling is paused.

### Can I trade every Ondo Stock on Saturday?

No. Ondo enables Off-Hours on selected assets and applies separate limits. Check its live status page and request a quote for the exact asset and amount.

### Does an on-chain pool close with the stock market?

The pool contract can continue operating while its blockchain runs. Its price and liquidity come from the pool, so they can differ from the last stock-market price when the underlying market is closed.

### Can I open a Turbo Range position when Ondo RFQ is unavailable?

An existing pool may remain active even when an issuer quote is unavailable, but opening a position can still depend on whether the selected deposit needs a live conversion. Check the current Turbo Range preview for the exact pool and amount instead of assuming that an open pool guarantees a usable entry route.
